House Republicans Expose Democrat Duplicity on OCS Drilling.

From: Oil and Gas Journal:   http://www.ogj.com/articles/print_screen.cfm?ARTICLE_ID=342257

A new report, "Drilling for Truth and Coming Up Empty," highlights major flaws and inaccuracies in a Democrat staff's report on OCS and other oil leases which Senator Barack Obama used in a Presidential debate, and others have publicly cited to support a ban on domestic drilling on U.S. property. Obama's use of the flawed majority Democrat report sadly misleads the public.

The House Natural Resources Committee minority staff led by ranking member Rep. Don Young (R-Alas.) wrote the report that   challenges the majority report published 6 months ago.  "The majority's report contained unsupported and undocumented extrapolations regarding oil and gas resources contained in nonproducing federal acreage that has already been leased, he continued. It illustrates a lack of knowledge about the onshore and offshore leasing process, costs to the lessee to acquire acreage, the nature of oil and gas deposits, and the time required to explore and, if a discovery is made, develop the lease, Young said."

The Majority report is akin to "junk science" published for the purpose of giving Democrats political talking points for their campaigns.  The citizens are the losers in the long run when the politicians bend the facts to fit their political agenda.  When you watch the gas pump meter spin past 50 bucks as you fill your car next week, remember that the Democrats will always block drilling in the OCS, and in Alaska.  Harry Reid tried to sneak an oil shale ban into legislation two weeks ago.  That's what we have to look forward to with our Democrat controlled Congress.
