Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is a Crock

It's a little far fetched and a lot opportunistic for Sen. Sherrod Brown to blame a merger in 2003 for lost jobs in 2008-09.  It's been five years since Airborne shareholders approved the DHL merger with 88% of the votes cast.  What has the US Senator been doing since elected by Ohio as Senator?  For one thing, he's a Democrat who supports bans on domestic oil production.  That stance has resulted in a $700 billion per year contribution to our balance of payments deficit and the resultant necessity for foreign entities to put those dollars to work investing in and acquiring US companies.  Anheuser Busch was recently acquired by InBev due to this growing situation.

Twenty years of enviromania has pumped not oil but the price of oil to levels that are forcing energy reliant companies such as airlines, trucking, and automakers to make tough decisions on layoffs, cutbacks in operations and outsourcing.  The DHL-Airborne merger stayed the the demise of Airborne that was being caused by crushing competition with FedEx and UPS. The DHL-Airborne merger saved jobs for a time but the escalation of oil prices has now driven a stake through the heart of Airborne and may do the same with other airlines, not to mention trucking companies, automakers, and other manufacturing entities.  What does the illustrious big mouthed Senator do to provide relief to American workers?  He votes no on drilling for oil.  The Plain-Dealer quotes him as saying, "The notion that we can drill our way out of this mess is a crock and cop-out. There's no there, there."  He no doubt thinks we can inflate our tires out of this situation like his buddy Oback Arama.  Take your dictionary and pencil in another definition for "crock": Sherrod Brown.  He is no more than a conniving politician who thinks he can trick the working people of Ohio into believing his deceptive nonsense.

It has now been 24 days since President Bush released the ban on Outer Continental Shelf, ANWR, and other drilling and production of oil.  How many more companies will have to be shuttered, how many jobs lost, and how much pain will it take until the Democrats of Reid, Pelosi, and Sherrod Brown say no to enviromania and yes to the American people?  The days of vacation for no-drill Democrats must end or we must put them on a permanent vacation in November.
